Geoff Ogilve was born a British Citizen 02 August 1944. He lived in New Zealand from Jul 1953-Jun 1996. He holds British and New Zealand Passports. He has been a professional pilot since he was 18. He spent ten and one half years in the New Zealand Airforce as a Fighter pilot and Instructor. He joined Air New Zealand as a DC8 First officer in Apr 1974. He opted for early retired from Air New Zealand as a B747-400 Captain in Jun 1996. He is presently on contract to China Airlines based in Taipei as a B747-400 Captain. He is married with an adult family. He has had a life long interest in motor racing. Due to family comittments he had to delay his desire to race until 1993. From 1993-1995 he competed in private and NZ Motor Sport club sprint events in his modified Leyland P76. Short on funds and with a rare vehicle to race Geoff has become a P76 racing advocate-in-need. The learning curve has been steep and expensive. He began Targa rallying the car in New Zealand in Oct 1995. He has competed in every NZ Targa until 1999. He has competed in the Targa Tasmania 2000(See report) and as of August 2000 has returned the car to its Motherland, Australia. He plans to compete in the Gold Coast TT, Dunlop Targa NZ and Targa TAsmania. He has longer term plans to race the car in its Spiritual Motherland, England.
